Questions (and answers) about Blue Sky Create

You'll probably have lots of questions about what Blue Sky Create is all about…So cast your eyes over some commonly asked questions below.

Who is Blue Sky Create for?
Anybody with a digital SLR camera, a love of photography and the desire to learn! A digital SLR camera is one where the body and lens can be taken off and changed.

Just so you know - Blue Sky Create is not aimed at professional photographers. We're happy to point you in that direction if this is something you're interested in.

What is a Creative?
A Creative is a person who has been on a Create workshop - it's just a much nicer word than delegate!

How many Creatives are on the course?
The course will have a maximum of eight Creatives and will only run with a minimum of six Creatives.

What is covered?
On our 1-day course you we will cover:
    •    What makes a great photograph
    •    All about exposure, ISO, shutter speed and aperture (if they are just words at the moment don't worry as we'll explain what they are and what you need to know about them)
    •    Depth of field
    •    Some quick and easy techniques that will instantly transform your photographs
    •    About YOUR camera and how to use it

What's included?
The cost includes all tuition, refreshments and course materials and a brilliant day out! If you have any special dietary needs, please just let us know and we'll do our utmost to accommodate.

What do I need to bring?
Yourself, your digital camera (with fully charged battery and completely clear memory card) and appropriate clothing for venturing out onto the Hopetoun Estate if it's wet or dry! It might also be helpful to bring your camera manual if you're not too sure what all the buttons do.

What time does the day start?
Morning coffee is brewed at 09:15 and the workshop ends at around 16:00. We've really thought about the structure of the day so that you won't be sitting in a dull classroom setup for hours on end - promise!

Hopetoun House is located in South Queensferry and easily accessible by car from the Forth Road Bridge and M8 and M9 motorway network.

What's your cancellation policy?
Our costs for each course remain fixed regardless of how many Creatives attend, so please be aware that  as with any pre-booked tickets for the theatre or flights, we are unable to give any refund in the event of non-attendance, regardless of the circumstances.
 
The only exception is if we have prior notice and if we re-sell your place.  Then, of course, we will make a full refund (or credit) to you.

We also reserve the right to cancel any session if there is insufficient demand to make the course financially viable, or to work effectively as a group. 

So please don't leave it until the last few weeks if you are interested in a particular date; you may find that it is already fully booked or has been removed!
