Say hello to Blue Sky Create – our brilliant, new photography training course in Edinburgh!

We’ve been working on something new, shiny and very exciting at Blue Sky Towers for a little while.

Drumroll please… We’d love you to say a big hello to Blue Sky Create!

For years we’ve been asked by our clients and friends if we’d consider doing some training in basic photography skills. Us? Training? Yes, we totally love photography, but we’re not super techno-geeks and we wouldn’t want to go back to spending lots of time in the classroom… and then we got to thinking…and chatted to our lovely friends at Hopetoun House...

How about a brilliant photography training experience that was about inspiring, encouraging and developing creative potential? Enough technical knowledge to take you off ‘auto mode’ and get you thinking about what you’re seeing, so that you can create fab pictures with your lovely DSLR camera.

And so Blue Sky Create was born.

A huge, big, Blue Sky thank you to Steve at Cherry Tree Films for this ah-mazing film… You rock big style!

Blue Sky Create is a relaxed, enjoyable day of discovering basic photography skills… from composition and what makes a good photograph to how to turn your camera off auto and get some great results. Add in the awe inspiring setting of Hopetoun House for lots of practical experience and some tasty food from the clever creative chefs at Beetroot Blue in and you’ll get an idea of what Blue Sky Create is all about…

And here are some of the shots from the group. It was great to get to know you all and see soo many great pictures. You were a really great bunch and we loved that you threw yourselves into the day. It was lots of fun.

Hopetoun House has so many fab spots to explore so the variety of pictures was awesome… and we had some little mini-models who joined us in the afternoon. Not only were they super lovely, but they were the biggest stars in front of all the cameras! Huge thanks to Heidi, Jessica and Niamh. And of course to Zoe and Olivia. You were amazing.

We’re running Blue Sky Create days this year on Thursday 28th April 2011 with further dates in June and August to be released soon! This full day course is £185 per person including all refreshments – all you need is yourself and your DSLR camera (one where the lens is separate from the body of the camera).
