What do I wear?

Once you’ve decided it’s time for a family photo shoot (if you’re putting it off here’s a few reasons why you shouldn’t)… the next, natural question is what to wear.

There are so many ways to answer this question, but to keep it simple here are our top 3 tips.

1. Choose Your Style

When we talk about style we’re thinking less of modelling and more generally thinking of what’s you as a family.

Ask yourself what kind of clothes do you like wearing?  (pick clothes that make you feel good – whether it’s your favourite jeans, or a top that makes you feel fabulous –  both have a place)

Ask yourself do we prefer lighter or darker tones (it may be helpful to think of your house and what works here)

2. Choose Your Colour

Fundamentally what do you like and what makes you happy?

Do you like bright, bold colours, or feel much more comfortable with neutrals?

What suits you and the rest of your family?

If you’re shopping for clothes for kids in advance, one top tip is to head for stores that typically have colour coordinating collections as they’ll have done some of the work for you. It can take a lot of the hassle out of finding matching tones.

3. Keep it simple

Accessories can add to your outfit. Hats, scarves, jewellery… all are good.

We’d generally suggest that pattern can work in small doses, so that there’s not too much going on in the photograph to distract from the final image.

And yes dogs and shoes count as accessories ????
