If we asked our kids to draw a picture of a castle, most likely they’d model it on Drumtochty. Ok, so technically it should be referred to as a castellated mansion, but whatever you call it, Drumtochty (and the team) rock our photography world. From our very first wedding (of Rach & Ian all those years ago) we knew that this was a special, special place.
Drumtochty is designed for celebrations that put friends and family at the heart of the party. It’s an exclusive use venue like few others. They’ve adopted the term home from home and take it to another level.
Think wood panelled ballroom (complete with Highland stags and Canadian byson) through to the fairytale church at the end of the driveway, oodles of bedrooms you can invite your nearest and dearest to spend the night, cracking food (and a BYOB policy to boot!) and you’ll see why this venue ticks so many of our favourite boxes.
Another part of Drumtochty’s brilliance is the team who will be there throughout the celebrations to plan and guide as you create a wedding like none other.
The beautiful woodlands just at the end of the driveway (and if you time it correctly you’ll get shafts of sunlight cutting through the trees) and the spectacular viewpoint at the Cairn O’ Mounth. All on your doorstep…
Some venues will say it’s a home from home. Drumtochty redefine that statement.
The team headed up by Ewan the office junior (don’t tell him we think he’s brilliant – he’ll just get a big head). Oh and we also love Fluffy the Wild Mountain Goat.
Take a peek at some of the weddings we’ve been invited to at Drumtochty Castle over the years…
Louise and Pete’s was the kind of wedding you just wouldn’t want to leave: the sun shone, the rain came, but regardless the love was abundant. Oh and did we mention the food? Probably the best beef ever!
From our first coffee with Niamh and Sam we were hooked. These two were made for each other, without a doubt.
These two are the loveliest, most easygoing couple. Karen’s smile would light up any room and Stevie’s chuckle is infectious.
From the minute we met Vicky (in a crowded bar over a G&T) we knew she was one of the good ones. You know those folks you meet and you just ‘click with’.
A magical first look, the most beautiful outdoor ceremony, a hilarious bridal party, and a whole lot of love…
Sarah and Rob’s love story would make an amazing film…
